Motorcycle gear replacement grants

Riding gear that has been through a crash may no longer provide the protection it was designed to provide. This grant category helps riders request funding toward replacement motorcycle safety gear.

  • DOT-compliant motorcycle helmets
  • Armored jackets and riding pants
  • Motorcycle gloves and protective boots
  • Body armor and back protectors
  • Motorcycle airbag vests and related protective equipment

What to include in the request

  • The date and general circumstances of the crash
  • Which items were damaged or are no longer safe to use
  • The estimated replacement cost
  • How the requested equipment will be used

Application process

  1. Choose the grant category.Select the program that best matches the expense.
  2. Describe the request.Explain what happened, the amount requested, and how funds would be used.
  3. Board review.The board reviews the request and may ask for supporting information.
  4. Email follow-up.The foundation contacts the applicant about the decision or next step.

Funding is not automatic and depends on board review and available charitable funds.

Can I apply for a motorcycle helmet replacement grant?

Yes. Helmet replacement is included in the motorcycle gear replacement category. Every application is reviewed individually and funding is not guaranteed.

Can a grant cover an airbag vest or body armor?

Protective equipment such as an airbag vest, back protector, or body armor may be requested. The board considers the equipment, cost, circumstances, and available funding.

Do I need to submit receipts with the first application?

No. The initial form asks for an estimated amount and a description. The foundation may request estimates, receipts, or other verification during review.
